furniture design - consumer electronic
This project began with analyzing the trend: rethinking, reimagining & reawakening. This trend works to create a cohesive design language while maintaining familiarity throughout; solving the age gap by utilizing modern trends.
trend analyzed
The requirements of this project are: Create a product that can be used for independent and group listening, a product that incorporates multiple forms of listening (CD’s, records, and Bluetooth), and finally transforms from an inactive to an active furniture piece.
From here I questioned how might I create a modern product that supports a wide array of users? I began a deep dive into the wider category of music. Music does a great job at connecting all groups of people from all walks of life. In the end, I decided to design a modern music system.
Starting with the ideation process I went through how to create a holistic piece incorporating all of my design requirements, including the audio system.
refined ideation
Using the images in the above slideshow, I gathered a group of individuals interested in music with ranging music tastes as well as different listening habits. Below are the results of the interviews I was able to conduct. I asked each person to analyze the images and explain how they would use the various systems. Afterward, I polled all of them to see if there was more I could add to make their listening experience better.
validation
After my validation, it was clear that I needed to make some changes to my design. Taking into account the feedback I had been given, it was clear I needed to focus more on the sound design than just the aesthetic of the final piece. From here I did a lot of research into the audio system. I also looked into what equipment would need to be involved: speakers, equalizer, and a subwoofer. These consumer interviews were crucial for creating and developing my final design.
challenges
While working through these problems, I also did a lot of reworking of my design and ended with this final result. From there I created high-quality renders of the product.
During this project, the world was hit with the COVID-19 virus, which resulted in the nationwide shutdown. In the future, I have plans of bringing this idea to the three-dimensional world but have had to modify my game plan. I am hopeful that those plans can be completed soon!

timeless app design
At the beginning of my app design, I took into account what pieces were necessary to operate timless and how the design would fit into the overall brand idenity of the project as a whole. Below are my initial aesthetic directions going into Figma.
In the end, this app allows the user to connect to the system and all of its features in one convenient space. I have provided a click-through version of what this app would look like.
